Amanda Buus Thomsen – BT Harvesting

They say a photo is worth a thousand words, right? So, I’ll spare you the thousand words and just show you what I’ve been up to the last few weeks!

I drug out all my cookbooks, marked new recipes to try and created the first few week’s menu.  Even though it took several hours, it is absolutely worth it!

The crew studied and studied for their CDL driving test.  Good news; they all passed!!

The boys were busy polishing wheels.  They did a great job!

Anders, Mikael & Manuel got header trailers ready to go! We took one machine to our job down in southern Oklahoma.  Most of our acres were grazed out, so one machine was enough.

I painted frames on some of the semi’s.  We do that every other year or so just as general maintenance and to keep them looking nice.

All the guys made it through the safety meeting. Every year we take a few hours to watch the USCHI safety video, go over safety rules and let them know what is expected of them.  Definitely time well spent!

We decided that since one machine was enough for our acres down south, we wouldn’t send the grain cart.  One of our crew members got a great picture with his drone of Len unloading on one of the grain trailers.

Right before Memorial Day, we moved the equipment to Cherokee, Oklahoma to get ready for our next job.

What do you do when it rains 2” in one day? You go bowling! It was a nice night spent hanging out with the crew…and it was a bit of free entertainment.

Now, we just wait for the fields to dry up so we can get to work.  I love all this rain, but it’d be okay if we had a break for a few weeks!

Hoping to be in the fields soon!
