Spring Valley Farms Inc.

The morning was spent attending a funeral for a sweet neighbor man and church member. Our church is one in the country so a lot of the locals grew up in it and also are farmers. We started cutting about 1 pm. My husband had gotten up at 6 am to unload 3 trucks of grain, one being for seed wheat. Also to fuel the combine and feed the couple head of cattle we still have to be butchered.

While he did that, I was inspired to write a blog post about harvest mornings and the sounds that remind me of my husband! It felt good to be inspired to write again!

My afternoon was spent weighing trucks at our home grain complex. This evening, I got to take a break to take our daughter to her softball game. She did great by the way! Up to bat three times & hit it each time! 🙂 Proud Mom moment! Her older sister was there so that was enjoyable as well!

We have filled a couple of bins at the home storage and have about 3 more to do. After that, we will begin taking them to the elevator. My brother-in-law was here to help again today and tomorrow a friend will be, as well. Full speed ahead! Supper was grilled hot dogs, bag of chips, store bought cookies! Nothing fancy! Tomorrow on the menu is Tator tot casserole!
