LaRosh Wheat Harvest Wraps Up!

Hi!  It’s been over a year since I have sent you anything!  I’ve been incredibly busy but thought I would send you a few pictures and fun facts from our harvest.  We started cutting on the 19th of June and finished up on the 1st of July.

While cutting wheat, we observed lots of wildlife running/flying out of the fields which included: deer, raccoons, bunnies, mice, rats, hawks, coyotes and pheasants.  It was my goal to try to catch a little bunny but I didn’t dare try this until the last day.  As a combine operator for my dad, I had to keep my header in the wheat as long as there was wheat to cut!  So, on the last day, knowing that there were no storms coming and that we would easily get done, I took my chances at catching a little bunny.  My first two times were failures, but I’m a quick learner and revamped my strategy!  I emptied my lunch box and suckered my little sister into helping me out!  We spotted a real little one and I stopped the combine to begin the chase!  We were able to capture it with my lunch box!  It’s so precious!  This was one of the highlights of harvest!  I’ve attached a picture of me with my little bunny friend!

Thanks for encouraging women across the country with your page!  I enjoy seeing other women working hard out there!

God Bless!
