Karly Cherney – C&K Harvesting & Trucking

I have been making the harvest run every year since I was four and I have never seen two years alike. Every year is a new adventure and this year is definitely a challenging one for so many of us. I am very thankful that we have been able to stay busy, with the exception of a rain delay here and there. We are currently cutting in Western Nebraska. Our next stop in Montana is not sounding very positive due to the drought. We are looking at different options until our fall crops are ready but just do not know which direction we will end up at this time…maybe another new adventure!

So here’s my proud mom moment…I was able to travel to California last week with our oldest daughter, Amber, as she competed in the National FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) competition. We are so proud of her for qualifying with her sales presentation of our own business, C & K Harvesting!  It was very interesting to hear what the judge’s questions were and what they had to say about it. It was hard to leave the field this time of the year but such a great experience for her!

A quick trip to the beach while in California.

I also have to give a huge shout out to our daughter, Taylor, for stepping up while we were gone and taking on extra responsibilities of cooking for the crew and also putting in some long days in the field working just like the rest of our guys!

Thankful for my hard-working kids and such a great crew to work with that comes together as a team to get the jobs done!

Until next time…Good luck and safe travels to everyone!
