Kylee DeBock – DeBock Harvesting

Since I have last written, we have moved to Hardin, Montana where we did just a dab of winter wheat. We normally stay around there for a few weeks but we were only there about four days. The spring wheat is really late so we hope to go back when it’s ready. We went ahead and moved on to Havre, Montana to start on winter wheat and peas; their spring wheat will be a while, as well.

My boys are having so much fun here on this job. The farmer has two children close in age to ours, Rainee is 10 and Rhett is 7 and they’ve been having the best time!! Rainee has taken Riggin swimming and has been doing “harvest crafts”. Rhett has been riding in the tractor and hanging at the field with Colston.

I have been in the field while here in Havre (and most of the summer), so I am thankful that Kitty (my mother in law) has been here to help pick up the slack. She has been cooking dinners and running errands for us to keep us all caught up on everything.

We are thankful and blessed to have work. as this year has been so hard on harvesters with hail, drought, mosaic disease, less acres planted due to low wheat prices and grazing/haying for cattle.  It is times like this I am thankful I have my faith. Because without God and knowing that He has a bigger plan, these difficult times would be hard to get through. Prayers to all the harvesters and farmers out there struggling through this year.

Happy Harvesting!

God Bless,
Kylee DeBock
