07/21/17 – Fort Morgan, Colorado

Dana Petersen – L. Petersen Farms

Our Colorado stop has been favorable for wheat harvest. Usually while we are here, we get a few showers to stop the combines… but not this year!  Which means, we are moving to northern Montana shortly… this will be one of our earliest moves that we have ever headed to northern Montana.

Our stop at Fort Morgan has a lot of “wildlife” at it.  The kids are heading to the next stop with a new pet – a horned toad lizard named Frank.  There’s an 11 month old puppy named Oliver that really wants to come with us but apparently that’s still up for discussion with the field boss!  Also, because one of our crew members has a hatred towards snakes, everyone was on the lookout for snakes here to torment him with! Some years we come across numerous rattlesnakes but we are thankful that the count was only one for this year.

We feel so fortunate to have this stop in Colorado! Our farmer and his family have become our family and we love coming “home” every year! Can’t wait for next year’s adventures!
