We finally got some rain!

I love cows!!!

We got rain yesterday morning and waited around until 10:00 am or so and the farmer said he didn’t think it would go today and let us set the crew free. The guys got to go to Rapid City and see Mount Rushmore and got caught up on their much-needed Walmart run. Turk and I had to run to Colby quickly, so 1100 miles later we got back today around 3:00 pm to more rain. Ron (our farmer) thought they would be cutting mid-morning, so Turk was trying to rush to get back in time for some wheat whacking. There was a heavy fog that hung in all morning and the humidity wasn’t dropping which made for a nice, calm and relaxing trip back from Colby. In other words, Turk wasn’t getting grumpy so it was really working out in our favor!

I made Turk pull over to get some pictures of these guys!

Once we got closer, it started sprinkling in Bison and there wasn’t a chance the wheat would go today. The guys had serviced this morning and Kelly cooked them some lunch (which I heard was really good) and then got the rest of the day off. Although we spent all day yesterday and most of today in the pickup, we got to spend the night in our new house which was exciting!!

The other half of the crew in Wall, SD wasn’t as lucky. They dodged the storms yesterday, got started pretty early and finished around 10:00 pm or so. I know they (and the rest of us) are getting pretty tired from having the constant push.  Today, they lucked out and the rain finally got them. Hopefully they can catch up on some sleep tonight and tomorrow morning.

I got my computer cord in the mail a couple of days ago and one of the guys brought it to Bison on the second move…I was so excited!!

I hope everyone is having a great day and getting caught up on some rest! I’m so happy the heat has calmed down quite a lot!
