08/01/17 – Lewistown, Montana

Dana Petersen – L. Petersen Farms

August 1 Canada bound

A whirlwind summer in the U.S.A. it has been for L. Petersen Farms.  The hot and dry weather has caused lighter crops and no rain delays,  therefore we are wrapping up in Lewistown, Montana and heading for Saskatchewan.

We will leave one machine behind in Montana to finish up spring crops that are ready to be harvested and the rest of us are on our way to Saskatchewan. The weather in Saskatchewan has been hot and dry, as well, and the crops there are ready for us!  The first crop that we are scheduled to harvest in the Weyburn area is lentils!  Weyburn is about 160 miles east of “home”. So even though we won’t quite be home, we will be close and might be able to go check on things at Hodgeville.

We anticipate that our own crops will be ready in a couple of weeks.  Even though it’s not typical to be in Saskatchewan on August 1st, we are looking forward to being closer to family, friends, and home!
