Audra Zimmerman – Zimmerman Harvesting

Day 130:

Soybean harvest has officially begun in a Langdon, ND.

After a 10 day “vacation” trip home via an airplane to Ohio, constitutes a vacation. At home, I had to renew license plates for our trailers. A “quick” trip to Florida for my grandmothers funeral and no time for a visit to see Mickey. I really am racking up the frequent flyer miles with Delta.

Many other HarvestHERs have mentioned that adjustment to life after harvest is a hard adjustment. With my vacation home, I am not sure what is so hard about going home? My full size bathroom, dishwasher, paved roads, Starbucks, “big” city 20 miles from home, yoga studio within 5 miles and friends and family make the adjustment back to life after harvest as “easy as pie”. I am still not sure why you would have such a problem going home??? Maybe I’m just weird.

We are still hopeful that we will be able to go home for fall harvest. A phone call today from home gave us a 2-3 week start date for fall harvest in Ohio.
