A Brand New HarvestHER in the Making!

I truly enjoy my job! 🙂

Monica Weiand – Far Eastern Colorado

Hello! I missed my entry last month. Somewhat on purpose.

There just wasn’t much to report on my end. There were fires and blizzards happening in other areas, however, and I wanted the Facebook focus to be mainly on the relief efforts. We seemed to be in the middle of all of it. There were fires to the South, East and West of us and, although it didn’t seem like much at the time, a one-night blizzard that killed many cattle in our direct area. From what I know, that has all been taken care of, documented, insurance claims filed and they’re moving on.

So I’ll move on to this month! I’m currently at 21 weeks. We did the ultrasound and found out this world is getting another HarvestHER! The doctor has no concerns for me or Miss Nugget…thank God! Although, we watched Nugget do flips, kick, punch and then turn herself into a pretzel on the ultrasound screen.

It’s corn and soybean planting time now so I keep up with mowing when I can. I’m feeling pretty good. I have struggled with too many bumps and too much jiggling which has caused some pain. Mowing is the worst. Planting has been okay. Prior to planting the soybeans, we pulled the land finisher and that was pretty rough.

Technology is amazing! Guess where this year’s test plot is… 😉

A great $20 Amazon find to the rescue! It said it was for active pregnant ladies looking to support their bump – LucyVee is the name. It wraps around my belly and secures with Velcro so I can adjust it perfectly. I tried using it during the spin bike class I try to make at least once a week but I’ve found that if I get too hot, it feels like my insides are cooking so I had to put it aside (I’ve also geared down my effort there).

Thankfully, I had it in my trusty BBOS (see previous post) when I got in the tractor. I was able to pick up another gear and nearly a whole mph! So happy you ladies will understand the significance of that, lol! I’ve also found I’m not a fan of maternity jeans. At least not the ones I’ve tried. What I am I fan of…leggings! Since I’m not to be doing much more than operating stuff, I can justify leggings. Dang, they’re fun! And COMFORTABLE! My husband seems to enjoy seeing what combo I put on for the day. Haha.

Hubs just *had* to get a pic of my planting outfit one day. Lol

Now it’s time to focus on the baby shower so I’m looking at the calendar and how many weeks I’ll be. I decided to have it before wheat harvest hits which puts me at 28-29 weeks. I shouldn’t be too big and miserable at that point but showing pretty good. The month following wheat harvest is just as busy. I didn’t want to plan much more than that but B’s bio-mom said she’d help her do a gender reveal for whoever we wanted to invite. So we had a small get-together at the park and they handed out cans of silly string for everyone to shoot us with (pink or purple means girl; green or blue means boy).

Aftermath of the reveal. My shirt says “buns in the oven”. My mom has had a lot of fun with this already 🙂

Life is good 🙂
