Nancy Eberts – Eberts Harvesting Inc.

Happy Thanksgiving from Crew Eberts!

I always say, “Count your blessings, not your worries!”

It’s been a bit since I reported in; we are, of course, back home and down to two employees and a few hundred acres.  There have been a few days off for family and weather in the last couple of weeks but we are remaining safe and looking forward to saying, “it’s in the books!”

Last field of sunflowers for 2017…but not done yet…right next to the farm.  It is worth noting that theses flowers didn’t even come up for seven weeks, due to the drought.

To be efficient, the guys took all of the side panels off. This proved to be a good thing with the North Dakota wind (it made a difference) and easy access for the few times we had sparks!

The kochia was everywhere! It truly blossomed when the rains came too late.

Dylan with quick access and the air wand.

We’ve had freezing temperatures (yes, even snow) and there is always wind in North Dakota! But, generally, within a day, things warm up.

We call it our rescue unit!

Cody…doing maintenance.

The corn crop was short and small but there is always something to make for a newsworthy day (North Dakota rock!)

The 2017 droughted harvest is coming to an end.
