11/16/16 – Drumheller, Alberta Canada

Brittany Van Driesten – Van Driesten Harvesting Ltd.

Harvest finished for us on Monday (11/14/16).

We had a great first two weeks in November to get some crop off. Many of our original crew members have gone back to work for the winter, so I spend the majority of my time behind the wheel of the combine instead of cooking.

Wyatt enjoyed his time in the combine, it was trying at times, believe me! Some days when he didn’t nap at all made it even more difficult! But we prevailed and made it through!

Now it’s time to get the equipment moved home, washed and put away for the winter. 5.5 months on the road, this is our longest harvest season yet. I have mixed emotions about it, as most of you HarvestHERS know I’m sure. I’m excited to be done, but sad, anxious and nervous, too! We have conventions this winter I’m hoping I can meet up with some HarvestHERS I met along the way this year!

But with all the business of harvest, we are in the middle of a house renovation and it has to be done before Christmas. I’m hosting Christmas this year so it has to be done…I know what I’m doing over the next few weeks!

Hope everyone had a safe and wonderful harvest season! And we are looking forward to Harvest 2017!
