Quote of the Day:
“I don’t need God to be in charge of my life.
I only need God to be at the center of it.”
Father Gregory Boyle.

Nancy Eberts – Eberts Harvesting Inc.

I received Father Boyle’s quote this morning from my dear friend, Marsha, in Northwest Kansas. She’s always so sweet about sending me quotes or tips. They always brighten my day and are worth pondering!

Harvest friends truly are a blessing in my life. Over all the years, since we began harvesting, they are simply my personal treasure.

It doesn’t matter the bushels to the acre or the hail storm that took it all, these friendships are my personal flower garden!

I grew up milking cows and hoeing acres of potatoes and a big garden (canning and chickens were my summers). My mom did it all! After getting married in the fall after I graduated from high school, I never planted my own flowers or garden. So, I wouldn’t be the one to give any advice on that.

BUT, without a doubt, I have thoroughly enjoyed everyone’s front yard or garden I have ever seen while traveling south to Oklahoma and on north throughout the summer (especially the lilac bushes…my personal favorite). The personal gardens and flowers of our farmers/customers…Oh Lordy…they make me giddy! In all aspects of the business of harvest, these beautiful blooms are a blessing.

I cannot forget all those here at home in Southwest North Dakota! I love a good flower garden and my friend, Bobby, has an amazing one.

I usually miss the planting and first blooms because we are on the road. But this year, with no crop in Frederick, Oklahoma, I am home a little longer and today visited Bobby and soaked up all her beautiful blooms (and she isn’t done yet). So here are the beautiful flowers I can’t name but learned which family member they reminded Bobby of and different things about them. From her great-grandmas to her mom, Bobby’s flowers  are so good for the soul.
