Well, fall harvest 2016 is over for us. Finally! We will be celebrating Thanksgiving tomorrow with family. It will be different for us to not be driving something, scraping our knuckles, sneezing from the dust, early mornings, and late nights. For awhile anyways.
This. I’m ready to be done with this, for the year. Turkey day tomorrow.
Hubby is working hard on getting the combine ready for soybean harvest. Right now he’s working on the header (it cuts the crop in front of the combine). The guards and knives are needing replaced. These guys are as dull as a pair of blunt scissors. Replace!
I write this journal tired from harvest. But we’re done, done with corn harvest 2016! Finally.
We were supposed to be done yesterday but a broken belt on the combine hindered our progress. After a call to a town that was close and realizing that they didn’t have it, of course, my dad had to drive to a town 45 miles away to get it. That put most of our day twiddling our thumbs.
