A BLESSED Weekend (video)

Kylee DeBock – DeBock Harvesting

Over the weekend, Northwest Oklahoma received a half inch of rain. I know that’s not a lot but considering that we’ve only gotten a half inch in the last six months…we were all thrilled! I heard a message on the radio from our emergency management that we are drier now than the “Dirty Thirties!” Now that’s really saying something!

This weekend I was also blessed with a visit from my mom, sister and nieces. The boys had soccer games on Saturday and we happily watched in the rain! We went home and enjoyed our evening with games, popcorn and movies. We introduced the kids to a classic…ET! They all really liked it. I live five hours from my family so I treasure each time we are able to get together.

I was blessed on Sunday with some family time. We went to church, grocery shopped and then headed home. The sun was shining so we all went for a horseback ride in our neighbor’s pasture.  The evidence of the fire was everywhere. The black soot and burnt trees were just heartbreaking.  As we continued to ride, however, we began to see the new growth sprouting from the ground. This fire was no doubt tragic, but with some rain and sunshine, this land will be more beautiful than it has been in years.

Here’s hoping you all had a blessed weekend too!

God Bless,
Kylee DeBock

“The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry.”
