Nancy Eberts – Eberts Harvesting

The rain delays can bring a lot of different things to do, from catching up on sleep, to polishing, cleaning cabs, making needed repairs, etc. etc. the list goes on and on. But my very favorite is CropTour with Myron!

I’d go anywhere with him!

Just the two of us going for a drive. We typically get more business done while driving together in the cab than around the camper. But I always enjoy the friends we seek out and meet, as well as all the visits along the way!

These last 36 hours have been wonderful. We started yesterday after dinner heading south through Tribune and Syracuse and then landed in Deerfield at the Zeorian camp, which led to a wonderful Mexican cuisine supper in Garden City! Thanks for the wonderful hospitality.

…and watching our hubby’s talk combines was worth a few toasts.

We were back at camper by midnight. Then, we were up and to mass in Goodland by 8am followed by breakfast and coffee at McDonalds. We enjoyed visiting with a wonderful gentleman and teacher named ‘Butch’ about harvest, farmers, and kids!

Then, when touring the local Chevy dealer, we saw Gary Mcgarvey walking into Orschelins and nearly made him jump while blowing the horn )his need to get a bag of candy was on us after that trick).

Another hour or so later, we jumped back in the pickup and went to get a 79 cent iced tea and ran into George and Dan Stoltzenburg and said hello!

George just always has a smile!

Before long, we were headed to Burlington, Colorado, toured a few lots, drove through Cheyenne Wells and Weskan. Took the back roads and stopped out at the field, checked the rain gauge and visited with our farmers and we’re back late afternoon at the camper in Sharon!

Over all, we put on some 350 miles and had a blast! Friends made through the years on harvest truly are the best! We are blessed.

Great roadside picture on the side of a building in Weskan.
