Kylee DeBock – DeBock Harvesting

I am not sure when my last post went out but seems like it’s been awhile since I have written anything.

We spent 26 days harvesting on a farm in Havre, Montana. It was an amazing experience full of fun adventures and memories made while on the Four Wind Farms. But all good things must come to an end. We packed up and moved to Powers Lake, North Dakota which is our last scheduled stop of the year.

We cut in Tioga and Lignite but we set up camp in Powers Lake since it is in the middle of those towns. We do this because we enroll our kids in school up here while we finish the harvest run. We like the small, quaint town of Powers Lake. The boys really LOVE this school and Colston has asked more than once if we could just move here so they could stay. Unfortunately, that is not an option. So, we will just let them enjoy it as long as they can.

Speaking of school, the boys started this week! Colston is in the 3rd grade and Riggin is in Kindergarten. We love that our boys are outgoing enough to try new experiences.

Since getting to North Dakota, we have cut spring wheat and lentils. I even made some lentil soup last night for supper. Everyone enjoyed it, so it will be in the menu again! We have had some days off due to the crop being green so we enjoyed a trip to Minot to look at equipment and stock up on groceries at Walmart! Yep, that’s about as exciting as it gets. Although…we have also enjoyed some nice picnic dinners at the campers followed by a game or two of Skipbo! The boys even got to participate in a rodeo fun day in White Earth, North Dakota thanks to some great people we have met while harvesting in the area!!

Wherever you might be, I hope you and your family are happy and healthy!!

God Bless,
Kylee DeBock
