Lindsey Sterkel

It’s way too cold!! I’m ready for summer already!

On Tuesday, DeAnn was super nice and had us all over to her house for supper. She made all 10 of us chicken fried steaks, mashed potatoes, corn, salad, and a really good dessert that she says is really easy and is always a crew pleaser. (I’ll get the recipe for you other HarvestHERs!)

When we left for harvest, DeAnn had her kitchen remodeled. Another reason harvest is awesome! We were all in Texas while her kitchen was getting done, so she didn’t have to live in the mess of a remodel. And when we got back, it was like walking into a whole new house! We were one of the first big parties to break in the new kitchen!

Nobody went home hungry!! And I can’t lie…I envy that 8 ft island!

Yesterday we had our annual Christmas party. We always bring a white elephant gift and you never know what you’re going to get! We had some great food and laughs.

Yesterday was also a few of the guys’ last supper at the shop. Jordan, Callum and Matt all headed to Denver today to get on a plane to England. It was pretty sad having to say “see you later” to them…I said it a bunch of times, but we’ve had a great season and really lucked out with great guys this year.

Now, we have two guys left that are going to stay the winter to help us out by getting things ready for next season!

This is, Trudy, whom adopted Jim and DeAnn! During the winter or while they are home in the summer and fall, she always finds her way back to their house or bus because she doesn’t come on harvest with us. Even George likes her!
