12/17/16 – Colby, Kansas

Lindsey Sterkel

Turk and I are headed across the pond!!😆

Thursday night we spent all night trying to pack for our trip to see Turk’s family for three weeks in the U.K.!! We couldn’t be more excited!! Turk hasn’t been home in four years due to visas, so it’s pretty darn neat he’s getting to spend the holidays with all of his family. I will also get to officially meet everyone, which will be nothing less than amazing!!

Some coconut cream pies for Christmas! How do you go wrong?!

Yesterday was more like a Monday than a Friday…Turk requested a couple of cream pies as gifts for a couple of people. He put his order in 48 hours in advance and between a Christmas party and packing, it spaced my mind. So early Friday morning, I was making pies!! Well, of course, I had made cheesy broccoli soup last weekend…which consisted of cloves of garlic…as I was making the cream pie I could smell garlic and I just knew my pie was going to taste like coconut cream with garlic extract. I tasted it and that’s exactly what it tasted like…😖 Thank goodness I had enough ingredients to throw another pie together that tasted much better!

We headed westbound to Colorado to stay night at my parents. After spending this morning double checking our suitcase weights, our passports, and boarding times – because of the snow that came in last night – mom and Shelby brought us to the airport!

This isn’t our plane, but we are going on a double-decker plane like this!

The next time you hear from us we will be in another country!!!! 😁🎉

I hope everyone is doing well!!
