My morning started in a fog (6:00 am)! Really…it was very foggy outside. But it didn’t take long and the day was simply busy, bustling and beautiful with a breeze.

We started the morning with a bacon breakfast bake.

While the guys were eating and packing their lunches, I was browning hamburger for supper and making the HarvestHER’s mayo cake for dessert!

I made the usual 3-4 gallons of tea – both sweetened and unsweetened – and sorted and started laundry.  The dishes were next on my list.  I love productive mornings and was feeling pretty good. BUT there was chemical that needed to be picked up in town. So, off I went to grab that and a few groceries.

I stopped by the shop to check on Joe and Josh; they were busy! I snapped a few pictures and was on my way.

It was after dinner before I returned home to unload groceries and attack those dishes. By 2:00, I was taking Myron some information to the field so he could place an order for parts. I then helped him with a few things on the drill and headed back to the dishes.

A common sight these days on the North Dakota prairie…tumbleweeds!

I see dandelions as life.  People try to get rid of them because they’re a “weed”.  I see them as a smile from Mother Nature and a reminder that I’m not in control. Since I was little, I have loved dandelions! Maybe it’s because everyone else complained about them!

By 2:45, I could hardly keep my eyes open and decided to set my timer on my phone for 15 minutes and that’s all I remember till the alarm went off. :<)
So anyway, long story short…the dishes FINALLY got done by 4:30. I do, however, have tomorrow’s supper in the crock pot (pulled pork)!
Tonight’s supper of spaghetti and cheesy garlic toast was served at 7:00 pm and again at 8:30 pm and I am still waiting for Myron and JD to come in as they are still in the field. Myron has not had the of best of days! We have been married long enough that I know when to ask and when to just wait and serve with a smile.
And so it goes…the sun sets on another day.
