She wouldn’t look at me!

Nancy Eberts – Eberts Harvesting, Inc.

Today was all about cattle, but in all honesty, after all that was completed including the round-up, the sorting and treating as well as branding the calves, this crew is ready for a long, busy harvest day!

Mother Nature gave us plenty of sun shine and lots of wind, which left everyone with burnt skin, chapped lips and ears full of dirt! Much respect for everyone’s hard work and cooperation.

It is very often the combine trailers are either parked or loaded and ready to roll when we take an afternoon and work (brand) cattle. Today, they are parked but remind us it’s going to be a busy week!

Today’s high was 83 degrees.  The wind never stopped for a second!

Lunch break

After lunch I made a quick trip to town for our last prayer shawl meeting at church until this fall…we take the summer off.  A special touch is given to each shawl with a crocheted flower, a tag explaining who we are and that they are stitched with prayer intentions, as well as a St. Joseph medal.   Father Keith dropped by and blessed all the shawls.

Pictured here are just a few of the knitted and crocheted shawls given out. Since we started this ministry, we have given away over 40! This is a great group of women.

Sunburns and tired men by 5 pm.

Mason and Trent

Maci told Sara the calves were getting tattooed like Maui from the Disney movie, “Moana”!

The jeans tell the story!

Sara made both lunch and supper today…we had ham and cheese sliders for lunch and Indian fry bread tacos for supper! Yummy, Yummy!
