Deibert Harvesting (JKD INC)

I know all of us HarvestHERs have those “I got this” moments and one of mine was the other day.

Since we have been going and going, laundry has managed to pile up a little bit. I was bound and determined to get a load in before we all headed off to the field for the day. Well, our water situation in Hitchland, TX (where we are staying) is quite complicated. There is not much water pressure; especially, when you have more than one hose hooked up to one faucet. We have been having to fill our holding tanks and run our pump at night to get good pressure for a shower. We can use just the normal faucet without the pump to run the washer though. (Pretty dang complicated, right?!)

Who can read that mumbo jumbo?!

So, I am pretty lucky that Turk normally deals with all the outside stuff on the camper when we are setting up, and I get all the inside stuff set up! Well, Turk was busy that morning and I thought Psh “I got this”! I switched some switches, made sure water came out of the sink and it did so I was good, and off to the field I went so excited to get ahead on laundry!

Around lunch time Turk gets a call that under our camper is flooded with water, and a what’s happening?! I guess I switched it to fill the holding tanks and the overflow flooded the campsite.

Thank goodness we didn’t come home to this!!

It was so hot that day and I suppose the ground needed a drink because when we got home the ground was all dry. So from now on, I will consult with Turk before thinking I know what I’m doing with the water hookups!

Hope everyone is doing good and hope it’s cooling down a little bit!
