06/29/16 – Thedford, Nebraska (moving to South Dakota)

Brown Acres Custom Harvesting

Wednesday was moving day.

We had to wait for some parts to arrive, but the trucks headed out in the morning. We got on the road in the afternoon. We were having supper in North Platte, NE when we got the call that the trucks made it to Mission, South Dakota and were parked due to 70 mph winds and a severe storm with hail and strong winds further north and west.

We were a few hours behind the trucks and ran into the storm around Thedford, Nebraska. We stayed the night at a hotel & RV Park that was surrounded by a big hill in Thedford, NE. It was ok when we got to Thedford, but the sky was black and the radar was red. The winds picked up shortly after we arrived and the rain started.

We got the campers parked and sat out the storm in the vehicles. The strong winds didn’t last long and we were protected by a big hill surrounding us. It was a bit nerve-racking and we were only on the very edge of the storm.
